A heat-resistant modified silicone coating designed primarily for temperature indicating applications requiring a distinct color change when applied to hot process equipment. The color change provided by Thurmalox 884/884C series indicates vessel or process overheating due to failure of refractory linings, system malfunction or bypassing of hot gases.

Suited for both new construction or maintenance, these coatings offer fast dry times and are available in low VOC formulations. Thurmalox 884/884C series is easily recoated with itself, please see full product data sheets for specific instructions and surface preparation details.
Common Uses
Thurmalox 884/884C series coating can be applied over inorganic zinc rich primers, silicone primers, inert multi-polymeric matrix primers or in some cases direct to metal. Please consult Dampney Company for specific recommendations.

Thurmalox 884/884C series will air dry for shipping and handling. The coating will reach its full physical properties once placed into elevated temperature service.
